One of the most astonishing experiences during the Paris Fashion Week was getting to see Virgil Abloh’s Spring/ Summer 2019 collection for OFF- WHITE.
It is a very contemporary collaboration between OFF- WHITE and Nike titled “Track & Field”. Fair and square- nobody does it like Virgil. This collection is jaw dropping and so original, bringing the mix of elegant and super sporty looks and the result is stunning.
Waiting outside the venue at Garage Alemot in Paris was crazy and the place was so crowded with fans. During the whole fashion week and all the shows I went to, I’ve never seen a crowd so major as the one in front of Off-White. The venue was actually an old garage warehouse-like space, so the scene was perfect for presenting the track & field collection.
What I love the most about the designs is the combination of chunky sneakers and elegant dresses. I find this extremely compelling, it looks so cool and it is very comfy- wearing a snatched, fancy dress with sneakers.
An important and very signature unit for the Spring/Summer 2019 collection was the green color. It is catching the eye and looks very futuristic. Isn’t it so absorbing how toxic this color looks? I find it so snappy and cool.
The animal print was very present in the collection and it was designed in the neon color also. Embracing the non-traditional ways of combining different styles and features and paying sharp attention to the detail is the signature of OFF- WHITE.
